It is the capital of the Diego Bautista Urbaneja Municipality, it´s located on the east seaboard located northeast of Anzoategui state, in the Complejo Turístico El Morro. The coast is covered by three beaches: Playa Los Canales, Playa Lido and Playa Cangrejo.

Es la capital del Municipio Diego Bautista Urbaneja, está ubicado en el litoral oriental situado al noreste del estado Anzoátegui, en el Complejo Turístico El Morro. El litoral está cubierto por tres playas: Playa Los Canales, Playa Lido y Playa Cangrejo.
How to get there / Como llegar
It is easily accessible by the road Caracas – Barcelona, or road Cumana - Puerto la Cruz, and road Puerto Ordaz - Maturin - Puerto La Cruz. It allows air access by Jose Antonio Anzoátegui Airport located in the city of Barcelona 20 minutes from the beaches. And seaway connection with the Nueva Esparta state.
Tiene muy fácil acceso por la carretera Caracas - Barcelona, o de la carretera de Cumaná - Puerto la Cruz, y la carretera Puerto Ordaz – Maturín – Puerto La Cruz. Permite el acceso aéreo por el Aeropuerto José Antonio Anzoátegui ubicado en la ciudad de Barcelona a 20 minutos de las playas. Y conexión vía marítima con el estado Nueva Esparta.

The wind: Pozuelos Bay is known for being an ideal place for windsurfing and kitesurfing especially during periods of initiation, due to the constant wind of average speeds blowing all year toward the beach, so there is no danger of water stream out. The wind is side-on shore and comes from North / Northeast. The period with strong winds is between the months of December - April, during the rainy period from July - September may be days without wind and offshore winds blowing towards the sea. The conditions are suitable almost daily, in the morning the breeze is soft and usually blows from the north. Typically the wind as it increases rotates in the direction northeast in the afternoon until dusk and frequently for a few days is continuous day and night.
The beach: Playa Lido has a moderate swell but it calms behind the seawall and the depth increases rapidly. It may not be ideal for bathing but it is to spend a great day sunbathing and enjoying the beautiful view it gives. Among the services offered include the rental of chairs and awnings. There are hotels and restaurants in the area near the beach. And they have parking. It is the preferred by Kitesurf lovers, and usually events are organized in it during different times of the year.
The climate: The climate is very stable throughout the year maintaining temperatures of at least 20 °C maximum 32 °C. The months of May, June and July there are small showers but usually the weather is dry with an average rainfall of 43,2 mm.
El viento: La Bahía de Pozuelos se caracteriza por ser un lugar ideal para la práctica del windsurf y kitesurf sobre todo en los períodos de iniciación, debido al viento constante de velocidades medias que sopla todo el año en dirección a la playa, por lo que no existe peligro de resaca. El viento es side-on shore y viene del Nor/Noreste. El periodo con vientos fuertes se encuentra entre los meses de Diciembre – Abril, durante el periodo de lluvia Julio - Septiembre puede haber días sin viento y con vientos de tierra soplando hacia el mar. Las condiciones son aptas casi diariamente, en la mañana la brisa es usualmente suave y sopla del norte. Típicamente el viento a medida que aumenta va girando en dirección Noreste en la tarde hasta el anochecer y es frecuente que para algunos días sea continuo día y noche.
La playa: Playa Lido presenta un oleaje moderado pero que se tranquiliza detrás del malecón y una profundidad que se incrementa rápidamente. Puede no ser ideal para bañarse pero sí para pasar un día excelente tomando el sol y disfrutando de la hermosa vista que regala. Entre los servicios que ofrece se encuentran el alquiler de sillas y toldos. Existen hoteles y restaurantes en la zona cercanos a la playa. Y cuentan con estacionamiento. Es la preferida de los amantes del Kitesurf, y usualmente en ella se organizan eventos durante las distintas fechas del año.
El clima: El clima es muy estable durante todo el año manteniendo unas temperaturas de mínimo 20°C máximo 32°C. Los meses de Mayo, Junio y Julio existen pequeños chubascos pero por lo general el clima es seco teniendo un promedio de lluvias de 43,2mm.
